Miss Nellie Miss Nellie
This is Miss Nellie. A friend with cancer took her from the humane society when she was 2 days old. My friend could not keep up with the schedule and gave her to me. She wears a breast cancer pin. She won the pet contest this year in our local paper and is quite the celebrity.

Abel Abel
Abel (photo right), Cain, Salem and Graykin are infatuated with Kitty Kaviar. Using his paws, Abel will open the cupboards and then remove and open the can of Kitty Kaviar. However, Abel is not always willing to share his treasure, so I am alerted to the situation by the others wanting their share. Due to Abel, the rest of the Kitty Kaviar cans are stored in the "paw proof" flour bin.

Skeemer Skeemer
I do have to confess that I was not a cat person, two years ago. My Skeemer came to me at six weeks old because of a misunderstanding. Someone suggested I get a cat and I said I'd think about it. And then some people I didn't even know called me to say my kitten was ready. I've since grown very attached. I'm sending a photo of Skeemer the day she came to live with me.

Furby
This is my multicolor calico Persian. We adopted her a few years ago and decided to name her "Furby" (as she resembles those little mechanical furry toys that were on the market a few years back). She has big amber eyes and is very affectionate. She is about 7 years old and we treat her like one of our children. Its very easy to get attached to a pet, especially one that is in need of a good home and attention.

Furby

Furby was adopted from an animal rescue shelter and was very underweight. It was hard to believe a beautiful animal, even purebred, would be discarded by someone. She had matted fur, was in great need of a bath, and appeared abused and fragile. Who could harm such a delicate, loving creature...

We had no trouble in feeding her and getting her the proper medical care. We feed her KalKan with Vitamins, Iams dry formula (and mostly we try anything we can get a coupon for). She has gained weight and we play with her regularly to encourage muscle growth. Her immune system is up and she's a joy to our home.

One of her favorite things at bedtime: she loves to sleep in my hair (its long and curly) on the bed pillow and fluffs it up at night. Leaving my hair a virtual tangled mess in the morning. She loves catnip and especially Catviar.

I don't know what I'd do without her. She's my baby.

Fred & Tabitha Fred & Tabitha
I found Fred in a no-kill shelter, and his adopted sister, Tabitha, is a blue-blood Bengal bought from a breeder friend. Fred, my CRF kitty who will be 18 in August, is the black cat. Tabitha is the spotted Bengal and will turn 2 on July 31.
